Demand for Construction Safety
Construction industry is one of the most high risk industries around the world. The huge direct and indirect costs become one of the major motivators in provision of safety measures. This chapter reviews 1) the global accident rates, 2) direct costs of accidents which include monetary compensation for the companies and the financial loss for the countries and 3) the indirect costs that are not covered in insurance and 4) ratio of direct to indirect costs.
