This research focuses on the emotion triggered by paintings through the creation of tension between the pictorial space and the pictorial surface. As both an architect and painter, I am fascinated by this relationship. I believe it is not only an inexhaustible source of artistic inspiration, both architectural and pictorial, but also a means for the evolution of both. Firstly, I will explain what is meant by emotion.
