Public Spaces and Urban Transition in Tirana City
Due to relations differences in the features and concepts that characterize open spaces and urban development, it is difficult to define the urban transformation of Tirana city. The central area provides a different function types and way of use and usually a higher number of physical changes, at least in developing countries and transition economies. These rapid processes have overlooked the need for data of actual public spaces information related to transition period and need to define standards for data comparability. The main objective of this paper is to analyse the relationship and classification of the public space transformation, according to their measurable ability and to highlight the effect and impact that these characteristics, as the vegetation has in the sustainability for a better quality of life, based on a resilient approach for data framework as well, and to compare the changes for positively adapting and transforming towards sustainability. Moreover, spatial data for land use changes and functionality are of some considerable importance for the authorities while planning and managing services. Data variables are also presented through diversity using spatial analysis and including the based typology recently. The results show the high differences between the classifications and changes during the transition period and are allocated in the most main areas, while residential zones appear as those negative values on the surface. These demonstrate the lack of criteria use to planning and a volatility development. Today's trend seems to embrace a theory that was created about the complexity of the city as an organism that can be adapted to achieve sustainability, but this remains to be evaluated and monitored.
