Glazing for Smart Architecture
The technological advancement that led to the enhancement of glass production techniques, coupled with the development of applied research on innovative material, allowed the realization of new products with extremely high performance—when compared to the basic glass product—able to overcome the simplification of traditional elements. This chapter develops a state-of-the-art glazing for Smart Architecture (the otherwise called Smart Windows), dividing the technologies investigated on the basis of their development status, recognizing more traditional technologies and systems and advanced technologies, with a final focus on emerging solutions.
