Numerical Analysis of Ground Settlement Induced by Shallow Tunnels
In this paper, settlement trough shape induced by shallow tunnels is explored using finite element method using RS2. A comparative analysis of settlement trough estimation is presented between empirical and numerical methods. A review of the analysis parameters has been conducted with help of numerical modeling. Numerical analysis by RS2 has been applied for evaluating settlement of ground surface cause by shallow tunnel for a metro project.
