Fibre Reinforced Concrete Characterization
The characterisation of the basic properties of all the fibre-reinforced concrete (FRC) batches of the round-robin test (RRT) was performed by the organising laboratory in LAB-01 facilities. The basic characterisation comprised the assessment of the compressive strength, elastic modulus and flexural tensile strength. The compressive strength and the flexural tensile strength were measured at 7 and 28 days for control purposes. Moreover, characterisation tests were performed at 3 different time lapses during the RRT to evaluate ageing influence on flexural properties evolution during the creep test duration: T1 at the beginning of the creep test, T2 at mid-term of creep test or 180 days and T3 by the end of creep test. Complementary long-term tests such as shrinkage and creep in compression were performed during the RRT for each FRC batch by LAB-01 and LAB-11. This section presents an overview of the results of the characterization tests and additional information such as individual results or residual behaviour charts can be found in Appendix B .
