The Stress-Strain State of an Earth-Fill Dam with a Clay-Cement-Concrete Diaphragm and a Stone-Concrete Zone
The factors affecting the stress-strain state (SSS) of rock-fill dams with a clay-cement concrete diaphragm (CCCD) are analyzed using PLAXIS software. These factors are stages of dam construction, diaphragm modeling tools (Soil, Plate), slip contact between the diaphragm and the transition zones, etc. The SSS of a rockfill dam with diaphragm of different compositions is analyzed. It is concluded that it is reasonable to make a stone-concrete zone on the downstream face of the diaphragm in tall (over 100 m) dams. A factor analysis is performed to search for the optimal design of a dam with a CCCD and a stone-concrete zone.
