Conclusions 1. On portals with gate chambers and short extended piers the effect of three-dimensionality is observed, and the pressure reduction coefficients Cp are less than in a two-dimendional flow. 2. When designing the configuration of portals with gate chambers it is recommended to use Table 1 and the graph given in Fig, 3. 3. The shape of a portal can be quickly selected by the given method without an experimental check.
