Elaborate Evaluation of Salt Formation and Old Cavern Forecast in Y City Salt Cavern Underground Gas Storage
The construction of gas storage by underground salt mines along natural gas trunk lines has become the mainstream way to ensure peak-shaving supply of natural gas. Since salt mineral resources are abundant in the middle and east of China, with relatively complicated geological conditions. In order to make full and efficient use of salt-bearing strata for reservoir construction, according to logging response characteristics of salt minerals, this paper innovatively established recognition curves, quantitatively analyzed lithology based on the curves, established a fine evaluation system of salt-bearing strata with BP neural network inversion method, and predicted the morphology of complex connected underground old cavity under characteristic seismic attribute technology. It is considered that the method of “logging combined with seismic” for salt layer thickness prediction has little error and high reliability, and the prediction result shows that the salt layer in this area is well developed, which is suitable for the construction of new cavity. The salt cavity shape prediction technique based on seismic attributes can describe all kinds of cavities completely, so that screening out two pairs of connected salt cavities for rebuilding gas storage. It innovated the application of geological evaluation technology in the early stage of Y city gas storage and provided the foundation for the construction of underground gas storage in salt mines in Central Plains of China.
