Summary and Conclusions
This chapter of the book presents the main conclusions of the proposed methods regarding feature extraction from stationary and non-stationary vibration signals and statistical decision-making for damage diagnosis including detection, localization, and quantification. These conclusions originate from the results of the laboratory and full-scale civil structures. Based on the obtained results, it is demonstrated that the proposed methods are successful in detecting, locating, and quantifying single and multiple damage cases under environmental and/or operational variability conditions, ambient vibration, and any kind of vibration signals in terms of stationarity or non-stationarity. Despite effective and reliable consequences, further developments are suggested to develop the proposed methods.
