Experimental Assessment of an Innovative Beam to Column Connection
Abstract Peikko PCs Corbel is an innovative building product used to connect beams and reinforced concrete columns in structural frames of buildings. The corbel consists of a steel bracket bolted to a fastening plate. The steel bracket acts as the vertical support of the beam. The fastening plate anchors the reactions from the bracket into the concrete column. A series of full-scale load bearing tests have been performed during 2016 in order to demonstrate the behavior of PCs Corbels cast into concrete columns at Ultimate Limit States (ULS). The test results have been used to determine design recommendations for standardized types of Peikko PCs Corbels.
