Assessment of Seismic Performance and Vulnerability of a 20-Storied Reinforced Concrete Moment-Resisting Frame Designed by Direct Displacement-Based Design and Force-Based Design
This study presents seismic performance and vulnerability assessment of a 20-storied reinforced concrete (RC) building designed by direct displacement-based design (DDBD) and conventional force-based design (FBD) approach as per Indian Standard codes. The study frames are evaluated for strength and deformation using nonlinear static pushover analysis. The vulnerability for predefined damage states was evaluated based on the responses obtained from the pushover analysis. The comparison of the performance of frames indicates higher efficiency of the DDBD approach for the study frames.
