Sustainable Urbanism Through City Information Modeling
Sustainability is known as one of today’s major goals, including all areas of life. Urbanism is the leading soul of our lives in work, housing, education, and open spaces. We experience urban patterns all day long through different steps (design, structure, environmental behavior, life cycle). Sustainable urban planning is a new trend that has emerged in recent decades and has become part of the design of some architects, helping to protect the environment and save resources.
Building Information Modelling (BIM) is an excellent achievement for the building, engineering, and construction industries as a fantastic arrangement of execution equipment configurations and is of great interest throughout the structural life cycle. The incredible impact of BIM shifted not only construction efficiency but also information that supports current and future urban growth, improving quality of life and contributing to the growth of the country’s economy. In addition, Sustainable Urban Planning focused on promoting the long-term survival of cities by reducing consumption, waste, harmful effects on people and places, and improving overall health. Another trend to consider cities and practices for building cities (urbanism) is the study of how inhabitants of urban areas, such as towns and cities, interact with the built environment. Building Information Modelling (BIM) mechanisms applied at the city planning level help provide comprehensive data for guiding and improving the sustainability of cities, which is Urban Information Modelling (CIM). This will involve optimizing the demand for new buildings, infrastructure, and services through, for example, considering users’ needs, both building and the wider community. It will also influence the broader supply of buildings and infrastructure by seeking greater efficiency and effectiveness. This paper aims to present an invented vision towards an interactive connection between (CIM) and Sustainable Urbanism to enhance the quality of life and city livability.
