Study of Superconducting Oxides at Westinghouse
Abstract The purpose of this paper is to present a summary of our past and current work on superconducting oxides having high critical temperatures, Tc, and also of collaborative work by three other groups, at the National Bureau of Standards in Boulder, the University of Texas in Austin and the Boeing Corporation in Seattle. Most of our work has been of a relatively applied character, aimed at the synthesis of new compounds and the determination of properties related to their current carrying capability. This activity started in January of 1987 and is continuing. The summary represents a snapshot taken in mid-June rather than an account of completed studies.
