Fatigue behaviour of cement stabilized materials using dissipated energy
Fatigue failure is one of the primary mode of failure in cemented materials. Traditionally fatigue models are developed using the pavement response parameters such as strain or stress (stress ratio) to evaluate the fatigue performance of different cemented materials. These models are mostly empirical in nature and does not explain the variability associated with the fatigue life even at the same value of the response parameter. An attempt has been made in this paper to evaluate the fatigue characteristics of two different cement stabilized materials using dissipated energy concept. It was observed that being fundamental in nature, dissipated energy based fatigue model predicts the fatigue life better than the traditional approaches.
