Sustainable Apartment Hotel with Autonomous Water and Electricity Systems
We have designed an autonomous modular apartment hotel according to the available data and standard regulations of Slovakia and Costa Rica. We have created a segmented wooden construction resistant to hard wind and seismic conditions with high humidity such as Costa Rica’s rainforest. Each part of the hotel stands on pile foundation with adjustable anchorage to prevent root damage and minimize field intervention. We used eco materials such as CLT (cross-laminated timber) panels, to make it sustainable with the possibility of quick installation during the whole lifecycle of the building. We have retained the opportunity to touch nature with the help of modern technologies and gentle technical equipment that preserves the original cycle of the ecosystem of the site and allows it to be independent from urban communications by collecting and storing rainwater throughout the year, using solar power and natural ventilation based on pressure difference.
