Uncertainty Analysis of Carbon Emissions from Highway Tunnel Construction
This chapter introduces the methods and principles of uncertainty analysis. Then the deviation of the quota data is obtained based on semi-quantitative data quality index evaluation. The value intervals of the current emission factors are obtained to determine the distribution types and parameters of related input variables with the Python-based LCI algorithm on the Visual Studio Code platform. The 95% inclusion intervals of primitive carbon emissions from tunnel construction are obtained through Monte Carlo simulation. And the fitting models of the primitives’ carbon emissions are established through the skewness adjustment and fitting of the output samples’ carbon emission distributions. Finally, based on existing project cases, the analysis scenarios are set based on the current tunnel design parameter optimization and carbon emission factor trends. And the overall carbon emission uncertainties of the tunnel lining construction are analyzed from three aspects: parameters, models, and scenarios.
