Conclusions 1. The hydrograph construction method, based on an unbiased calculation of the volume of the maximum flood, can be taken as the basis for further perfection. 2. During construction of design hydrographs the dependence of the shape of the floods on their height must be taken into account. 3. Extension of the requirement for equal reliability of the peak discharge and flood volume must be limited to that part of a multi-peaked hydrograph within the range of which a sufficiently close relationship between these quantities is maintained. The closeness of the relation must be stipulated in the construction specifications and regulations.
