Do we need a law to protect French river corridors?
The protection of river corridors is a necessity to which various legal instruments seek to provide a response: instruments to protect ecological networks, ‘green’ and ‘blue’ infrastructure and river plans. Nevertheless, these legal provisions should be backed up by a law to protect river corridors, officially establishing the functional unity of such territories, offsetting the gaps inherent to the fact that the network technique is not specific to rivers and to the limited legal scope of river plans and green and blue infrastructure.
