Experiment and Numerical Analysis for Thermo-mechanical Behavior of Granite Block
Heating tests and numerical analyses on room-scale granite block were carried out. In block heating test, temperature was distributed radially isothermal from the heating source. Temperature variations were excessively high during the first 3 hours of heating. After the heat flow reached stable state, temperature exponentially decreased as distance from the heat source increased. Numerical analysis for block model showed that experimental results coincide with the analytical solutions.
