Eine Plattform für die Wissenschaft: Bauingenieurwesen, Architektur und Urbanistik
Based on the Cassirerean theory that comprehension in its fullest sense results from a variety of modes of interpretation, this article discusses the absence of mythical approaches in urban design. It proposes a scheme for the construction of “narrative-myths,” a concept combining conventional spheres of urban studies with subjects disregarded by professional procedures. The article presents an experiment with narrative-myth in the context of Tel Aviv, wherein fourteen texts produced by graduate students reveal tendencies of impermanence and transitoriness. Though their practical implications are a matter of creative interpretation, such tendencies are indispensable for the understanding of the local urban culture.
