Performance-Based Evaluation of Energy Dissipating Hysteretic Infilled Reinforced Concrete Frame Based on Cyclic Tests
The detachment of the infill with the RC frame starts at a low level of drift that triggers several undesirable modes of failure of the infill itself as well as within the frame. The proposed research intends to develop an alternative infill wall system with large deformation capability without collapse and a large energy dissipation capacity. It comprises slotted blocks with the energy dissipating link elements. The results show that the energy dissipating hysteretic infills can minimize the undesirable characteristic effects and achieve enhanced performance limit states even under the collapse prevention damage state.
