Coupled Bilateral Hysteretic Behavior of High-damping Rubber Bearings under Non-proportional Plane Loading
The hysteretic behavior of high-damping rubber bearings under different non-proportional plane loading paths is experimentally examined. Compared with unilateral reversal loading test results, non-proportional plane loading will make the rubber of high-damping rubber bearings have additional regional shear strain, thus leading to quite different mechanical properties and hysteretic behavior. A previously developed mathematical model is further modified for appropriately characterizing the unilateral and bilateral behavior of high-damping rubber bearings. The applicability and generalization of the further modified model are examined and demonstrated by comparing its predictions using a unique set and different sets of identified coefficients with the test results.
