Study on Anti-icing Performance of Pavement Containing a Granular Crumb Rubber Asphalt Mixture
This paper reports studies of the anti-icing performance of a pavement containing granular crumb rubber asphalt (PGCRAM). In this mixture the granular crumb rubber is used as part of the aggregate. The factors that influence the anti-icing performance of PGCRAM were studied using the Finite Element Method (FEM). Variables studied were the content and the position of the crumb rubber in the mix, the base types, etc. Finally, based on data from the experimental laboratory sections and experimental field sections, the good anti-icing performance of pavements containing a granulated crumb rubber asphalt mixture was verified.
