Actual practices for asbestos stripping works are precisely managed by the laws. Weighty and costly, they are not suitable for all the situations. However, a new methodology could be proposed, that may lighten the operations and provide the required safety levels. It is based an three principles of collective protection: asbestos pre-treatment in order to reduce the fibres releasing, dynamic confinement with capping of the fibres at source by a directed air flow, real time and remote supervision of works. Specific techniques have been developed in order to make easy use of this new methodology: procedure for valuation of the ACM fibres releasing potential, pulverisation system of encapsulation products in moss form and monitoring system for asbestos stripping works.
