Naming the rose: observations on ‘landscape’ usage and professional identity
The plurality in meaning and use of the word ‘landscape’ in New Zealand is reviewed. Relationships between usage and professional advocacy are examined. Implications for the interpretation of landscape and other similar concepts used in policy formation both in New Zealand and in Europe and North America are discussed.
