Déformation thermique transitoire des bétons à haute performance
This paper presents the results of an investigation on the transient thermal strain of concretes heated under a compressive load. Four concretes were tested; three high performance concretes (HPC) and one ordinary concrete (OC). Thermal strains and thermal strains under 20 and 40% of ultime compressive load were studied. The thermal strain of concretes appears sensitive to the nature of aggregates used: limestone or gravel (siliceous). By opposite, the transient thermal strain appears to be not sensitive to the nature of aggregates until 300°C, temperature at which the cracks are formed. The absolute value of thermal strains under load-combination of thermal strain and transient thermal strain is lower. The actual practice that generally does not take into account the transient thermal strain is then a secured practice.
