Modélisation simplifiée du comportement à rupture des murs
To fill space of the code existing in the field of the confined masonry as in level French as European, the CSTB leads a search program of walls built in full scale. In this article, are presented the results of these various types of clay masonry pieces, these pieces taken up according to various modes of arrangement of vertical joints (empty, full, intermediate situation). Walls are subjected to the action of an alternated cyclic horizontal load, applied in the plan of the wall. The failure mechanisms of these walls show the influence of the aspect ratio and the mechanical characteristics of bricks. A model simplified of compression diagonal failure of the wall is besides proposed. This model integrates the mechanical characteristics of the used elements, as well as the geometrical characteristics of the wall.
