Sacred Places in Java: The Concept of Site Selection in Javanese Architecture
This paper has three purposes: first, to provide insight into the Javanese's beliefs in supernatural life and supernatural power of sacred places, explaining the myth of mountain in the Javanese mystical life; second, to provide insight into the concept of Javanese architecture related to selection ofa site; third, it discusses how the concept of site selection of Javanese architecture to the sacred places is associated with the belief in supernatural life, which are influenced by Hindu, and Buddhist religions.
