The Aesthetics of War: The Exhibition of the Fascist Revolution
Largely ignored by historians and critics, the Mostra della Rivoluzione Fascista actually constituted a significant episode in the twenty-one years of Fascist rule. Organized by some of Italy's most talented painters and architects, the Mostra emphasized some of Fascism's fundamental themes and showcased some of the peninsula's most avant-garde designs. But it also expressed Fascist rituals in architectural and symbolic form, transforming earlier traditions on behalf of the new order.
