GEOPHYSICAL AND HYDROGEOLOGICAL INVESTIGATIONS FOR STUDYING SEEPAGE PROBLEMS IN DAMS
Excessive seepage from dams causes water-logging in the downstream area and may threaten the integrity of structure. A seepage-assessment program consisting of geophysical and hydrogeological methods is found useful to recommend remedial measures to abate the seepage. Three case studies that have been discussed in this paper, show the study of seepage for the dams, and remedial measures suggested.
