Modélisation micromécanique de l'endommagement du granite de la Vienne
A general 3D micromechanical damage model, recently developed for quasi brittle materials is applied to a french granite (granite de la Vienne). This model incorporates mixed mode microc racks growth, identified as the main source of the inelastic deformation of such rocks. Coupling between microcracking and friction phenomena is taken into account at the mesoscopic level. Basic elements of the 3-D model and it's formulation in rate form are presented. Identification and application of the model on a French granite (granite de Vienne) allow to show that it describes well the salient features of the brittle behavior of this rocks: load-induced anisotropy, positive dilatancy, hysteresis loops under cyclic compression, non negligible permanent strains, etc.
