A Comparison of User Benefits and Costs of Nature Conservation at Three Nature Reserves

Benefits from conserving wildlife at three Sites of Special Scientific Interest are estimated using a travel cost method, recording demand in terms of actual site visits. These benefits are compared to the costs of nature conservation, both the financial cost which is (or could be) incurred under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 and also the social costs of the agricultural output forgone, after protective tariffs and subsidies of the Common Agricultural Policy have been removed.

On fait la comparaison de ces avantages avec les coûts de la défense de l'environnement: à la fois le coût financier encouru (ou qui pourrait l'ětre) suivant la loi de 1981 sur la faune et la campagne, et les coûts sociaux sous forme d'une perte d'output agricole apres la suppression des tarifs douaniers et des subventions de la PAC.

Die Nutzniessung des Tierschutzes an drei verschiedenen Orten, die von besonderem wissenschaftlichen Interesse sind, wird geschätzt, wobei eine Methode der Fahrkosten benutzt wird, die Nachfrage im Sinne tatsächlicher Besuche der Gegend registriert. Diese Nutzniessung wird mit den Kosten des Naturschutzes verglichen, wobei sowohl die finanziellen Kosten, die laut Gesetz für Tierschutz und Landschaft vom Jahre 1981 entstehen (bzw. entstehen können) als auch die sozialen Kosten der unterbliebenen landwirtschaftlichen Erzeugung, abzüglich Schutzzöllen und Subventionen der Landwirtschaftspolitik des gemeinsamen Marktes berücksichtigt werden.
