Evaluating Discomfort From Lighting Glare
A brief account is given of the purpose and significance of research on glare, particularly its influence on production, as well as the four factors for evaluating the degree of discomfort from glare. Mention is made of me arrangement of equipment, the conditions for experiments and the process of obtaining mathematical expressions for glare evaluation. Relationships are presented between the brightness of the glare source and the background brightness, and between the solid angle subtended by the glare source on the observer's eye and the angular displacement of the source from the observer's line of sight. Comparisons are then made between the parameters of the Chinese formulae and those of other countries.
