Sick Building Sydrome: The Mystery and the Reality
The nature of sick building syndrome and its possible causes are discussed. It is suggested that although occupant discomforts are unlikely to be primary causes of the syndrome they may intensify awareness of the symptoms. Reference is made to emerging evidence of correlation between complaints of thermal, visual and spatial discomfort and prevalence of symptoms. Practical methods of avoiding some of the more common sources of dissatisfaction and of risk management are outlined.
