Planning, Postmodernism and Community Power
Metropolitan planning initiatives in Perth have been coming under increasing attack from local interest groups. This process is by no means unique and is indicative of changing power relations between state and local interests affecting many aspects of contemporary society. This paper analyses the evolution of this process against the background of a broader philosophical debate relating to the demise of the era of modernism and the emergence of postmodernist thinking.
