Evaluation of a Tenancy Advice Service Case Study of Waverley, Sydney
There have been few evaluations of tenancy advice services. The following survey of mostly private tenants in flat buildings was conducted in the Sydney Municipality of Waverley in 1991. It highlights the low level of awareness of tenancy advice services amongst tenants. Of the tenants who were unaware of these services, more than 90 per cent stated they would use them if they needed to in the future. The study reinforces the continuing need for advice services, particularly amongst migrants and non-English speakers. Different strategies could be adopted to promote and publicise these services.
