The use of building information modeling (BIM) for architectural design assumes precision and coordination of data. Outcomes prioritize constructability, assigning a stereotypically “straight” perspective to its high degree of building likelihood. Queering BIM is an applied method that challenges the normalization of BIM's default “family” objects. By shifting the focus of digital content development (on this often-imposed platform), a more socially responsible and equitable strategy promotes work with design specificity and collaboration potential.
