Air Conditioning Modelling by Computational Fluid Dynamics
A computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis is used to assist in the design of an air conditioning system for the Sydney International Aquatic Centre. The objective of the air- conditioning system is to meet the client's needs as set out in the brief prepared by Public Works to create comfort zones necessitating separate climate zones in the spectator and competitor areas without intervening partitions. Flow patterns, temperature and humidity distributions throughout the building are predicted, leading to an innovative system and air delivery design. The CFD analysis proves to be an effective and economical means of achieving the objectives.
