Contrôle du compactage des remblais de tranchées
The SAGEP company launched the development of a new testing for control compaction of trench filling up. The principle of the testing, named « OVAMETER », consists in using the pipe as an expansible metric pressure probe for direct measuring of the filling up modulus. Comparison of the measured modulus with a limit modulus sets up the conformity with the compaction specification. In order to evaluate this new testing device, an experimental trench has been built up and 6 test benches simulating various lacks of compaction have been set up. The Ovameter appears to be able to detect with an accurate sensivity a coating filling up lacks of compaction. Although its application is limited to flexible (plastic) pipes, it represents a complementary innovative tool for dynamic penetrometers.
