MODAL ANALYSIS OF JACKET OFFSHORE STRUCTURES SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT
Fixed offshore structures are constructed in open ocean, where rough sea conditions often exist. Dynamic behavior of ocean waves develop high dynamic forces in the structure, which in turn result in resonant state, if the natural frequency of the structure is close to that of frequency of loading. Hence, it is important to predict the natural frequencies of the structures realistically. For such predictions, the modal analysis of the structures (Idealized as a lumped model) needs to be carried out accurately, and a reliable numerical procedure must be used. Here is an attempt made to develop a software named as Dynacs 1.0 which carries out the modal analysis of fixed jacket offshore structures accurately and efficiently.
