Sur la fiabilité des mesures des perméabilités hétérogènes par injection de gaz. Micropulse tests
Transient pulse decay is widely used to measure permeability of very low permeable materials. When the injected fluid is a gas, the pressure diffusion equation is nonlinear due to the pressure dependant gas compressibility. To simplify the pulse test analysis and the permeability measurements, a regular perturbation method is used in order to obtain an approximate solution of the non-linear diffusion. This solution, which is very closed to the original exponential solution of Brace [BRA 68], is valid when the interstitial pore volume is much smaller than the volume of upstream and downstream reservoirs. In order to measure permeability of homogeneous material, such tests are used in our laboratory (Laboratoire de Mécanique de Lille) with very small pressure pulse (micro-pulse test). Applications of the approximate solution are, there, presented for heterogeneous samples made up with layers coming from different materials. An equivalent or average permeability can be only measured and/or calculated, for such sample, with a steady state fluid diffusion. However, the obtained experimental results clearly show that the micro-pulse method remains available when applied to these artificial samples and leads to the same equivalent permeability value.
