Pieux échangeurs: conception et règles de pré—dimensionnement
Heat exchanger piles are foundation piles which can be used to transfer heat with the surrounding ground for heating and/or cooling purpose. The design of heat exchanger pile systems is described in detail and the problematic related to the thermal and mechanical effects is exposed. A numerical simulation model, developed and validated against measurements of existing installations, is presented. A methodology is established for the determination of the numerous parameters which are required for the simulation of such systems. Based on the analysis of a typical system, a set of recommendations and rules for the sizing of a pre-project are deduced. The influence of thermal solicitations on the mechanical behaviour of the piles are discussed. This study deals only with installations built in water saturated ground layers. A technical feasibility study of a heat exchanger pile system is presented. It highlights the difficulty in establishing a set of rules for the design of the thermal installation which is valid for any case. It confirms the necessity of being able to use a numerical simulation tool for such systems. The influence of the thermal solicitations on the static of the pile is also estimated and shows that in the particular case, the carrying ability of the ground is only slightly diminished.
