A qualitative evaluation of four thermal design tools, TEMPER, CHEETAH, ARCHIPAK and QUICK has been carried out. Their inputs, outputs, limitations and capabilities are compared. The user interface of these programs has identified various shortcomings, which hamper the simulation process.
