Discusses the wiring of an office building fire-alarm system. The design of the precast concrete building required the alarm-circuit wiring to be routed through metal studs in the interior walls, around corners and ducts, and in restricted spaces in suspended ceilings, as well as under a raised floor in a computer room. Therefore, it was decided to use an NEC-approved metalclad cables that was UL-listed as Class 1. This cables, the fire alarm system and the wiring of the system are outlined.
