In the given report the results of the studies of the electrodialysis method applied for the partial desalination of the water with the saltcontent of 250 to 2000 mgr/l and also with the saltcontent of 3000, 4000 and 5800 mgr/l prior to its desalination by ion-exchange are discussed. The combined desalination system consists of one or several-stage electrodialysers, arranged at the head of the scheme and of an installation of three-stage ion-exchange. The application of the combined systems is justified when the saltcontent is higher than 500 mgr/l.
