Technical and economic considerations of biocide system options for cooling water systems: a review
A number of biocides presently available for treatment of cooling water systems have been considered in this study. Both technical and economic aspects of each of the options have been included in this review. Although a number of options are technically more attractive, it appears that chlorination is the most viable treatment method. Ozonation can be accepted widely only when the economics of ozone production are substantially improved.
