Design guidelines for water and wastewater treatment plant control systems
This paper describes the procedures to be used in design of water and wastewater treatment control systems. The paper outlines the preliminary steps which should be utilized in identifying the problem and the needs of the control system. A method of formulating a work plan is then discussed and specific design procedures are presented. Methods of considering alternative approaches is included. Special precautions and special considerations which must be taken in design of control systems for wastewater treatment plants are presented. The paper culminates with a discussion of five case histories of installed automated control systems for water and wastewater treatment. (DePo)
