Modal analysis of inflatable dams under hydrodynamic conditions
The inflatable dam consists of a single sheet of ruberised fabric folded into a tubular shape bag which is then sealed into place during installation. The bag is fixed at the base and inflated by air, water or a combination of air and water. A numerical modal based on the finite element approach to analyse the dam under hydrodynamic conditions is presented in this paper. The forced acting on the dam due to variation of overflow head, downstream head and inflated pressure have been analysed in order to study the behaviour and performance of the dam and to find the shape of the profile of the dam and the tension in fabric.
