Correlation between physical measurement of insulation between dwellings and the corresponding subjective judgements
Present standard measurements of insulation between dwellings are time consuming and do not always correlate well with the requirements for privacy and comfort. Laboratory experiments are described by which subjective judgements of loudness and rejection of domestic noises can be scaled. Correlations with dba measurements of insulation are presented which allow a considerable simplification of the present standards.
